This batch of HDPE material was harvested on 13 November 2020 by Plastic Collective’s partner EcoBarge at the Whitsunday Islands by some wonderful volunteers across Australia’s Great Barrier Reef at the coordinates of 20.2675°S, 148.7169° E.
It is estimated that for every kg of our recycled material that displaces virgin polymer, we are providing the following benefits:
- 8 kg CO₂ reduction
- Increased income for remote and vulnerable communities
- Reduced ingestion and entanglement of wildlife
- Increased availability of tourism and enjoyment of local regions
